Seasons on the Farm

This 40 acre farm was carved out of the wilderness in 1879-1880, the original farm house dates back to 1880. Amish owned the farm for a few years and added on to the original house, creating a huge kitchen with custom oak cabinets. This album shares images of the farm over the seasons of the past year, but doesn't begin to show the natural wonders we've experienced living here. Wildlife is a frequent joy to behold - deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, pheasants, Sandhill cranes, even fox have been sighted on the farm. There are ancient fruit trees, wild black raspberries and blackberry thickets, and wild mushrooms to forage and enjoy.
